Since Dungeon Keeper was published in many languages, it is hard to know what map people are discussing on this forum.
So I made a map reference here, for people who want to check which map people are discussing.

If someone gave me all the tile diameters of each map, I'd be more than happy to kick start the DK1 Campaign for DKII again.
"In this eerie world so bold and true, I stand atop the hill to get away from you.
Transparent in indulgences and bewildered by trust, I'd happily assume that killing you is a must."
And for the French ones :
- Eversmile : Euphoria (I guess it's not hard to understand that one)
- Cosyton : Villexquise (Ville (Town) + Exquise (Exquisite for Cosy))
- Waterdream Warm : Aquaville La Tiède (Aqua (Water) + Ville (Town) + La Tiède (Warm). I guess they couldn't do a nice translation with Dream, but they surely meant some kind of heavenly town.)
- Flowerhat : Chapofleury (Chapeau (Hat) + Fleuri (In flower))
- Lushmeadow-on-Down : Belleplouze Sur Gazonne (Belle (Beautiful for Lush) + Pelouse (Lawn for Meadow) + Sur Gazonne (On Grass). What does "On down" mean?)
- Snuggledell : Biencachay (Bien (Well) + Cachay = Caché (Hidden))
- Wishvale : Vallon d'Édeyzihr (Vallon (Vale) + d'Édeyzhir = Des désirs (Of wishes))
- Tickle : Rigaut-Le-Haut (Rigaut-Le-Haut = Rigolo (Funny). And it's not hard to understand the link)
- Moonbrush Wood : Bois Ankhor (Bois (has two meanings : Drink and Wood) + Ankhor = Encore (Again). I'm guessing Moonbrush is some kind of drink?)
- Nevergrim : Toujouraville (Toujours (Always) + Raville = Ravi (Delighted) + Ville (Town))
- Hearth : Mondoult-Fouailler (Mondoult = Mon doux (My sweet) + Fouailler = Foyer (Home). In short : Home Sweet Home
)
- Elf's Dance : Danse-Des-Elfes (Danse (Dance) + Des elfes (Of Elves) = Elf's Dance)
- Buffy Oak : Chêne-Fauve (Chêne (Oak) + Fauve (Fawn). What does "Buffy" mean?)
- Sleepiburgh : Hann Nuys Moortell (Hann Nuys = Ennui (Boredom) + Moortell = Mortel (Deadly))
- Woodly Rhyme : Allayc-Sandrain (Allayc-Sandrain = Alexandrin, which is a twelve syllables' verse in French poetry. I guess you can catch the link here.)
- Tulipscent : Fleury-Merosiers (Fleury = Fleuri (Bloom) + Merosiers = Mes rosiers (My rosebushes))
- Mirthshire : Allay-Gretz (Allay-Gretz = Allégresse (Joy))
- Blaise End : Féli-Cité (Féli-Cité = Félicité (Felicity, Bliss) and Cité is for City to specify a place)
- Mistle : Bruhmm (Bruhmm = Brume (Mist))
- Skybird Trill : Lyons-Perruche (Lyons = Lyon, a huge city in France. Otherwise, perhaps it's for Lion (the King), or a mix of both. I don't really catch it + Perruche (Budgerigar))
I like dragons! They're the center of my life! I'll never forget them...
Downs are areas where there's chalky hills, so I'm guessing it's either that or just a village in a low place.
I think moonbrush here is just to suggest moonlight, as if the moon was brushing the world... that sounded less gay in my head! There's a drink called moonshine, but the 'bois' here must be referring to wood.
I would guess in this instance it means polished oak, but as with most of these names it's more in how they sound than what they actually mean, although they're all describing nice things.
It's quite interesting reading the names in different languages and seeing how similar or not the meanings are.
I do the German translations, they are kinda funny names, the translator used these times
1: Eversmile / Immergrins (Allways Grin)
2: Cosyton / Nettstadt (Nice City)
3: Waterdream Warm / Herzlich Hollstein ("Schleswig Hollstein" is a german place)
4: Flowerhat / Blumingen (Flowering)
5: Lushmeadow-on-Down / Rosenburg Ob Der Zauber (Fort Of Roses and Magic) - I like this one much
6: Snuggledell / Lieblich-Knuffeltal (Lovely-Cuddly-Village)
7: Wishvale / Traumtal (Dream-Village)
8: Tickle / Herrlich-Hohenbollern (Joyful "Hohenbollern" (a place in Germany lol) )
9: Moonbrush Wood / Moondlicht-Wald (Moonlight-Woods)
10: Nevergrim / Nimmerbös (Never grim)
11: Hearth / Heimathof Titsee (Homeyard Tit-sea) Strange
12: Elf's Dance / Elfentanz (Elf's Dance)
13: Buffy Oak / Badenerland ("Baden" is a place in Germany)
14: Sleepiborough / Pennburg (Slumber-Castle)
15: Woodly Rhyme / Knittelvers (Smoothy Rhyme)
16: Tulipscent / Tulpenduft (Tulips-Smell)
17: Mirthshire / Glücksberg (Mountain Of Luck)
18: Blaise End / Luschenreich (Losers Realm)
19: Mistle / Dudenhöf Yard Of Duden ("Duden" is a german lexicon)
20: Skybird Trill / Vogelsang (Bird's song)

I've added the 15 Deeper Dungeon maps to the first post.
About the names, I think most of them are anagrams or mixes between different languages, or both, because except for 2 I cannot find any clear defination. But I have to admit, the DD map names do sound cool and epic, and not to mention, ancient.
7. Abbadon
15. Belial
Someone even used them for doing a RPG Names list.
By searching a bit more, I did another interesting found:
Caddis Fell : Caddis surely comes from "Caddis Fly" (or "Caddice Fly") which are four-winged flies. And well, since this level has so many flies around that we have to beat, "Caddis Fell" title matches this level well!
By the way, I can see in the pictures above that none of the levels are taken from my unofficial patch. Some of 'em would have obvious modifications.

Nice one DragonsLover, I thought that wassen't really relevant untill you mentioned the Flies part.Totally forgot about the Fly waves during the Caddis Fell level, an obvious reference to the name.
I've been thinking about Kari-mar, lots of results here but I think it's based from just a normal name.
I've taken these pictures because most people are able to be familair with these than with the ones in your patch. Maybe you could post yours later? Just to see the differences.By the way, I can see in the pictures above that none of the levels are taken from my unofficial patch. Some of 'em would have obvious modifications.
