Hmm... you said Mefisto helped you with that special bug? What exactly was the problem.

Not much of a bug, more of a stupid error I made while mapmaking.
Well, I placed a magic door on open space with no walls next to it to support. And the crashes happend after I used 'Reveal map' and went to the map overview, then after one crash, the sound died slowly away when I restarted the game.
Hmm... I wonder if I did this would the same thing repeat...
I have multiple Dungeon Keeper folders for alternative data (Before I didn't think of getting a folder for the different creature data and levels) and I don't think all of them would be affected. You told me you reinstalled it before, and it didn't work. There might be some data still left that is causing it to do so, or something.
Are you playing with the full installation or do you use the disk?

I woudn't really suggest to try this for obvious reasons.Hmm... I wonder if I did this would the same thing repeat...

I've used the full installation because it was needed to begin mapmaking. But I guess that makes sense. An idea that came up to me was to try this with KeeperFX and give the filelog as soon as it happend to Mefisto to see if he can do something with it. But unfortunately the cursor bug prevents me from doing that.
Well it wasn't a suggestion more of a check or something. Since you don't need the disk, there's no possibility that could have anything to do with it.
I wonder if I gave you Dungeon Keeper from a whole new source. Dungeon Keeper isn't that big, if you want I could do that.

Wow.
Something like that sounds like a problem outside of Dungeon Keeper. Maybe your computer doesn't like it or something.

Are you playing the Windows version or the Dos version?
If you're playing the Windows version, Dungeon Keeper uses DirectSound to play the sound effects and speeches. Therefore, you don't ever need to configure your sound card at all using Setsound.exe. Try doing the tests using dxdiag.
If you're playing the Dos version, you have to use Dosbox. DO NOT configure the sound card by running Setsound.exe nor play the Dos version of the game UNDER WINDOWS. You must do everything UNDER DOSBOX, even the installation, and everything should be fine. Be sure to configure the emulated Sound Blaster 16 card in your Dosbox.conf file first.
I like dragons! They're the center of my life! I'll never forget them...
I'm also having problems with the sound in DK.
I managed to get it runing on Windows 7 x64 and the intro movie has sound but when I get to the main menu and in game there is no sound or music.
I'm not runing this under compatibility (if you can bealive that) and I did use Microsoft Compatibility Administration as a start to get it runing on windows 7. I also HAD to copy everything from the CD on to my PC to get rid of the black screen in the main menu. With all that the sound fails...go figure :P
So any help regarding how I can fix the sound would be apritiated since this is an epic game and it just warmed my heart that it's runing on W 7![]()
