    Default Loss of sound

Thread name should speak for itself, my DK's sound (all sound, not just music) has suddenly died off and happend after a crash when testing a map of me (which is fixed by the way, thanks to Mefistotelis!).

Any suggestions to fix this would be greatly appriciated. Do not suggest me to get KeeperFX, I've already got it but since the cursor problem issen't fixed I can't play it properly.

Dungeon Keeper uses "Sound.dat" and "Speech.dat" files stored into the Keeper\Sound folder for the sound effects. If you're playing the Dos version, it is required to set the sound card properly.

Try to change the sound volume in the Options.

Are you playing DKGold or original DK? Because if you're playing the original DK, it's recommended to use a patch, which isn't needed for DKGold as it is already applied.

    Otherwise, I have no idea.

    You mean this?

Does that include the patch that improves AI?

    In both cases, yes.

If you're playing the game under Dosbox, for example, you'll need to use Setsound.exe to set your sound card for the game. For what I have seen in the screenshot, it's seems to be okay, if just that it's not Dosbox.

As for the patch, it seems to be only for the Windows version, but I'm not totally sure. You have to try it. Anyway, if you're using DKGold, you don't have to worry about that.

There's one thing you can do to at least make you feel better.

    Blame EA.
